WIFFLE BALL RIVALRIES

               Bronze                                           vs.                                   Benny B

The most epic rivalry started in 2007 when the two captains drafted their teams. Both teams, Unsalted Pugs and Cull-pepper salt were favored to make the playoffs.  There was a lot of trash talk exchanged between these teams. This sparked even more competitiveness between the teams. In the 2007 playoffs, Unsalted Pugs swept the Cull-pepper salts in 3 games. The Unsalted Pugs team celebrated on the field with propel water. Angered by the loss, captain Benny B went into hiding in his basement for days. He wanted redemption in the 2008 season. This did not come however, as the Unsalted Pugs swept the Cull-pepper salt’s in 3 games for a consecutive year playoff championship. Benny B has won the season championship two years in a row, but he has not won the playoff championship. Bronze is striving to win both the season and playoff championship in 2009. Both of these captains are all about the W, and it makes games between their teams very enjoyable to view. This rivalry will most certainly continue in 2009.

                Chico                                            vs.                                           RiRi

This feud has started and has been amplified since the 2007 season. This feud was started in a playoff game in which Chico refereed. After a disappointing loss in game 2 of the playoffs, RiRi (a player for the Cull-pepper Salt’s) was upset. RiRi threw a bat at the fence and almost hit an Unsalted Pugs player. RiRi was then ejected from the field, and Chico suspended him for the next game of the playoffs. RiRi and the captain Benny B were outraged by the decision. Later, Benny B realized Chico was just doing his job. RiRi still believes to this day that it was an incorrect decision. Ever since then, RiRi and Chico were enemies. It did not help that RiRi and Chico were both put on the same team in 2008. Their team, The Dingleberries, did not achieve a win in 2008.RiRi and Chico were both frustrated by the outcome that they blamed each other for the losses. Chico believed RiRi made too many errors per game, and he even said that RiRi made 40+ errors in one of their disappointing loses. RiRi believed Chico was at fault because of his 21.77 era over the year. RiRi also wanted to pitch more throughout the year, but he believes he never got the opportunity to pitch as much as he should have. Both these players want to be on separate teams in 2009.

              Matt W.                                    vs.                                                    The Law

Matt has been suspended multiple times in his two years of season play. He had five suspensions in 2008. He just can not seem to hold it together in desperate moments. He is a rebellious player but he also has the potential to become a great player. When focused on an objective, he will fight hard to accomplish it. Matt W. needs a captain that can focus him on winning games.

            Eric Koloski                                   vs.                                                     The TREES

Trees Next To Scotts Pit by Fairway Kev.

Ever since Eric Koloski was a child he was hated by trees. Nobody but him knows why, but it is true. Every year since the start of wiffle ball at Tiere Field, Eric Koloski has been hitting bombs. Unfortunately, Eric Koloski has most of these potential homeruns robbed by trees. He has been frustrated by this, and he frequently suggests we cut down the trees. This only makes the trees angrier. Luckily for Eric, we will be playing open field games at White Brook in 2009. He is predicted to be a more productive homerun machine in 2009.

          Chico Morales                                    vs.                                               Mike Martin

This rivalry has been boiling up since these two famous characters met each other. Now, this rivalry makes its way to the wiffle ball arena, where anything goes. There may be on field occuranses in the upcoming future with these two raging powerhouses. Chico, known for his on field brawls will be looking to spark his team to victory in the 2009 season, this spark could occur between him and his Gatorade powered rival, Mike. Unless these two rivals end up on the same team which could result in interteam brawls that only hurt themselves. Overall, this looks to be an exciting rivalry between these two combatants in the 2009 season.

        Benny B                                           vs                               Chico Morales

This long lasting rivalry started from one side of the fight just shuning the other. Benny B after a long day of snowball fights with Chico suddenly decided to boycot the Mexican born Chico. There was no real reason for the rivalry to start, but Benny B reached out for support against Chico, but only his loving fan Matt W supported him. Chico just wanted to have fun, but the immature commissioner of the AWA was furious. Benny B has held a grudge on Chico up to this day. Chico decided to strike back in the 2008 AWA season when he was kicked out of a game for his on field outbursts, Chico returned to the field several times to finish off the scared Benny B. Benny B however had his security guards escort Chico off the field. Chico will be trying to take his revenge out on Benny B in the 2009 season when Chico plans to crush the commissioners team in a wiffle ball game.

*There are more rivalries to come in the future, if you have any suggestions, please put them on the AWA comment page
